Auditions update

As I had blogged before about the LA film "The Coalition" holding auditions, then the date changing so that I missed them, then at the last minute they added another day for holding auditions...it unfortunately got postponed again. However, my spirits are still raised because of the fact that the casting director herself called me to apologize (albeit she really had nothing to apologize for!) and that they had to postpone the audition until next week. I'm happy because she was interested enough in my to audition to call me personally and to inform me that I shall be invited to the auditions for the following week. I consider that a great sign :)

I also received a phone call from a local production company for upcoming auditions this Saturday for a short thriller film. It's about four college grads that go out into the wilderness and something dreadful happens. Haven't received the script so I don't know much about it nor the character, but I'll keep you posted.

Luck is on my side

I am now officially the lead actress for the upcoming movie called The Big Something! My character's name is April and the film will be shooting in the valley of Arizona around June.

My character is a young woman whose love of music has caused her to end up in a record store. Her youth, however, does not decant her bitter and jaded perspective of the world. She discards tangible items in her hands as she does with her words and actions towards everyone and everything around her. However, the murder of her boss forces her and another co-worker through a series of events and adventures that forces her to rectify with her own demons and come into grips with her true identity.

I fell in love with the character because I feel that April is a portion of my own being. There are times when I feel lost and bitter. There are times when it's hard to maintain relationships (platonic or not). I also feel that she is an aspect of myself that I cannot be due to societal and traditional family norms.

The story is great and I know it will be a lot of fun to film. The director is hilarious and down to earth, so I know we'll all get along just famously.

Here's the novice blog for the movie at the moment:

Audition update

I know it seems impressive that I've posted several times within a matter of minutes when I've had months of silence... but great news!!!

That movie being shot in LA that I thought I missed the audition yesterday is actually holding an additional audition tomorrow!!! The casting director contacted me to inform me about the wonderful news!! Sooooooo.....my luck continues!

Yay!

Catching up

WOW. I just looked at my posts and realized that there was a major time gap!

I just want to inform you all that I was casted in Ey Pari Kojai and we have already filmed it. Assal, the director, has submitted it to several film festivals and it got picked up in a European film circuit, which we are ALL excited about.

I love my job

I really had an amazing experience with everyone on set: the cast and crew. They are incredibly hard working, brilliantly talented and genuinely down to earth. I am honoured to have been apart of this project!

Auditions outside of the Big Apple

So I've taken a trip back home to visit the family, but that doesn't mean the business ends. On Wednesday I had an audition for a feature film as the leading lady. It's a murder mystery film that takes place in a record store and the irresistible desire to know the truth unravels itself in this bizarre twisted plot.

I met up personally with the director and we seemed to hit it off well, but the business is a tricky one and albeit we may get along-that doesn't mean I have the part.

I also had an audition for another feature film that is going to be shot here in AZ about a group of soldiers whose helicopter crashes in the desert.

I'm pretty bummed because there was supposed to be another audition today for another movie, but Friday vvveeerrrryyyy late at night the producers/casting director bumped up the audition day to yesterday and I unfortunately didn't get the email in time.

I am crushed, but I have two more auditions for shorts coming up, so that's what I have to look forward to. You know you are surprised about all these auditions over here....heck, I'M even surprised. It's a pleasant surprise of course because fortunately for me, I am here just at the right time!

Hope everyone's dreams are coming true!
